Tricone drill bits

Tricone drill bits are one of the most demanded tools in modern drilling. In 2010, a new workshop for the production of tricone drill bits was built at JSC "Vostokmashzavod" and equipped with modern imported high-precision equipment and advanced thermal equipment. In 2023, a new energetic team of managers joined the factory and created a separate workshop No. 5 with the decision to resume the production of drilling tools. Today, workshop No. 5 under the name of "VMZ TRADE" LLP is ready to enter international markets for the supply of modern drilling tools.

We have a СТ-KZ certificate for 50,000 drill bits per year.

International Drill Bit Classification IADC

First digit (Series): Indicates the general type of bit, ranging from 1 to 8. Series 1-3 are for bits with milled teeth, while series 4-8 are for bits with hard-faced cutters1.

Second digit (Type): Specifies the type of cutter within the series, from 1 (softest) to 4 (hardest).

Third digit (Body): Describes the bit body type, such as open or sealed, and whether it has hard-faced inserts.

Fourth character (Letter): Optional, indicates additional features like air-boosted drilling or special cutter configurations. 16 letters are used to designate special designs of armaments, supports, washing devices, and drill bit body protection. In cases where the drill bit design has more than one additional characteristic, the most significant one is indicated.

B - Sealed bearing with a special seal design for drilling at increased rotation speeds
C - Central nozzle/air blast
D - Special armament design minimizing borehole deviation
E - Extended nozzles
G - Enhanced protection of leg shirttails with hardfacing or carbide inserts
H - Bits for directional or horizontal drilling
J - Hydromonitor bits for curvature drilling
L - Calibrating pads on the leg backs, reinforced with carbide inserts
M - Bits for drilling with downhole motors
S - Standard bits with milled teeth
T - Two-cone bits
W - Enhanced armament
X - Predominantly wedge-shaped teeth
Y - Conical teeth
Z - Other tooth shapes

DTH hammer drill bits

DownTheHole (DTH) drill bits are designed for breaking rock during the drilling of blast holes using downhole pneumatic hammers. The spline connection of the shank increases the reliability and strength of the connection itself and ensures quick and easy tool changes.
